The Bleancaerau Growing Garden is a testament to the power of community action. Designed to address social isolation and provide access to fresh food, this project has revitalized the local green space into a productive and inclusive environment.
Key Project Outcomes:
Accessibility: Installed raised beds suitable for gardeners with limited mobility.
Biodiversity: Planted native pollinator-friendly species to support local wildlife.
Community: Regular "skill-sharing" sessions attended by residents aged 8 to 80.
The Impact This project focused heavily on inclusivity. By redesigning the layout of the estate's green space, we ensured that elderly residents could participate alongside school children. The garden is now a self-sustaining asset managed by the local residents' association, with ongoing support from the Greenspace SOS maintenance team.
